    Coastline Poultry in NC...Experiences Anyone?

Thanks all for your responses! I did order eggs (not from Greenfire) so we'll see how that goes. Eggs were wonderfully packed, none broken, just set them today after a 24 hour rest. Fingers, toes, knees, eyes crossed!!!!!!!

    Coastline Poultry in NC...Experiences Anyone?

Cool! Thanks so much for the info! I'll get a hold of McMurry to see about their breeding stock (don't have nor do I want white earlobes or all white tails on my Biels!) Thanks again!!!

    Coastline Poultry in NC...Experiences Anyone?

Hi all! I know this is a very old thread but I was wondering if Coastline Poultry is still in business. I need to add some new blood to my Bielefelder flock that I've been working on for over 5 years and I thought I'd start with a somewhat local farm (I'm in Hillsborough, NC). Thanks and I do...

Cuckoo Marans - Hens or Cockerels?

Well, you will probably get tons of opinions, but mine is NO. We just put our Golden Cuckoo Marans down last week because he ROYALLY attacked me and tore up my thigh. We had a WONDERFUL Blue Copper Marans roo who was a doll, a coule of truly docile Bielefelder roos, and a super Cream Legbar...

    A Bielefelder Thread !

No, I seem to get an egg every other day from my Biel girls. I have 9 Biels, 4 BCM Marans, 1 PBR, 3 Cream Legbars and we average a dozen eggs per day with a high of 14.

    A Bielefelder Thread !

Good to know! I have always incubated my Biels eggs, but my hatch rate is more like 60%. But I keep at it as I'm getting a dozen eggs a day so I just bate two dozen at a time in my Brinsea and that gives me more than enough chicks.

    The Olive-Egger thread!

I agree - green is a fun color even if not olive green!

Blue Copper and Splash Copper Marans Discussion

I should think so. I know from personal experience that a Splash Marans roo over BCM hens (black, not blue) gave me 100% blue. Have fun!

While not green, that is one BEAUTIFUL egg! 'Course I'm partial to blue eggs!

    The Legbar Thread!

Yep, I know how you feel! I've had a few ambiguous Legbar cicks myself and I'd love to hear what others more versed in Legbars have to say. Where did you get them? Are you sure they are pure bred? The reason I ask is that the leg/foot color looks off to me. A bit too grayish???????? Or...

Great - Biels will LOVE it! I've got a couple of pairs of Biels chicks (3/10/17 & 4/5/17 hatch dates) PM if you are interested!

    A Bielefelder Thread !

Good! Whether pure Biel or just part, I think you'll find that the Biels are EXCELLENT pets! I can pick up most of mine any time I want and they just settle in for a big cuddle. And my roo is such a gentleman, good to me, very good to his ladies. Just keep them as cool as you can in the heat...

    A Bielefelder Thread !

It's kind of hard to say, but I'd bet good money she's got Biel in her! Your description also sounds like Biel but the coloration looks just a bit off. But that could be the line she comes from. Time will tell and she'd a doll one way or the other!

    The Olive-Egger thread!

I'm not understanding this. To get an olive egger, does one have to have a roo from blue egg breed and breed to a hen from brown egg breed? Can't it goe either way, gender wise? I've got a Cuckoo Marans roo in a run with three Cream Legbar hens and I thought this would give me olive eggers...

    A Bielefelder Thread !

First thing I would do is swap them around. Leave the boys in their respective pen and just switch hens and see what happens. Also, how long have you had them paired up? I find that if there is a change in their routine, my crew will take two or three weeks to "kick into gear" again. They...
