I was on te edge with this issue for awhile but I believe feeding the whole egg yolk included is safe, I even add the shells. I would never feed just egg whites though as egg whites contain a high level of avidin. Avidin is a protein that binds biotin. I was worried about creating a biotin...
I think it is good that your vet did swab the ear(many jump right to steroids) and it may very well be a possiable envoirmental factor causing the allergic reaction of yeast overgrowth, but feeding the dog a food based on corn, wheat and by-products doesn't nessacarily help to remedy the...
I to am an advocate for raw feeding. It takes a little extra time to prepare but it is worth it. I do raw meaty bones as a majorty of the diet follwed by muscle meat. . When I travel I bring a box of Honest Kitchen raw dehydrated pet food so I don't have to worry about the raw meat mess. Dogs...

I'm definetly no health expert but my opinion still remains that dogs need extra vitamin E. when being given any PUFA(Polyunsaturated Fatty Acid) 70-120 IU/doses is too variable for me. I use the vit. E to also protect the PUFAs which are seceptiable to degradation. The body WILL use up the...
Even if a zebra is to be just a lawn ornament they would still need routine feet trimming and vet work. Trimming zebras can be VERY dangerous. My shoeing school instructor would trim for a zoo and all the zebras had to be sedated and blind folded. When you put a zebra under pressure, they have...
I use it as part of my raw feeding. All my dogs get it. I am very pleased with the results. It is kinda pricey but the quality is worth the extra money . If you do supplement with it make sure to add viatmin E to their diet or if you feed kibble make sure there is vitamin E in it. A quality...

You said every thing I was thinking! I would love to see him give more credit to the Dorrance brothers as he learned alot from them. They are what I would consider true horseman. I've seen alot of very spoiled dull horses who have been trained using his training style. That said I've...
Congratulations Julie! I really like your birds. Thanks for positng the photos. That buff of Doug Akers is darling. She looks like a little basketball. I love all that fluff!
I find horse ownership extremely fullfilling. I was not raised in a "horsey" family at all. However where there is a will
there is a way, as the saying goes. I think the most important thing is that you have a passion for them, it makes
the money and time they consume worth it. They are trully a...
Does DD stand for dear daughter? I am not really up on internet abbreviations.
Do you have a 4-H club with a horse chapter? That can be a great place to learn and meet people. Hands on experience is one of the best ways to learn when it comes to horses.
It should be "What kind of damage won't a bear do."
I've had a bear punch out my truck window to get to some salmon flavored
dog treats. He also ate several candy wrappers. He came back several
nights after that, untill I let the dogs out after him. They are very capable
of breaking stuff...

Wow that sounds just awfull! How long has he been like this? He probably didn't
develope this over night. I have never heard of rain rot causing ozzing yellow puss
either. He really needs some vet work done to identify the problem.
So Peter Brown's article says to start with birds not showing any sypmtoms and work your way back from there and avoid vaccinating the birds with the full blown symptoms.
That makes sense to me.
The APA has some helpfull articles on vaccines.
http://www.amerpoultryassn.com/health1.htm
If you read the above link it states not to vaccinate sick birds unless they have
Fowl Pox or LT.
It also says that the vaccine can be used as a treatment during an outbreak.
Hope that helps.
