It is extremely frustrating and has been a quite expensive endeavor to get true black roosters to work with. If anyone wants to call me to talk that is fine. my internet is cell phone and texting is not real good took about 15 minutes to post this.

I am not in Columbus. You are definitely new to the breed. Black is very hard to come by.
I had Partridge and got rid of them.
I posted here first. Tomorrow I'll post to darkegglayers and other groups.
Ddon't kill your roosters they are extra hard to find. My experience says they have a heart condition. no problem with the hens. I have a few black hens left and no roosters to use with them.
I lovee my Araucanas too. Right now I'm switching roosters out. so far I've used my best Silver duckwing roo with my hens. Next I'll use my best tufted BBR roo with them, after that I'm usi.g my largest bodied gold duckwing roo, hes partial tailed. last is a Lavender red bird. I love the colors.
I'm located in Ohio. I have two ganders I'm culling I'm keeping offspring from them so don't need them too. Both reasonably priced.
I can be contacted at 740-607-9225. I also have a few goslings for sale.

I think they are Marans. I think they are a mix of Salmon, Black tailed buff and Wheaten. Someone here in the US had Wheaten and black tailed buff (they are cousin colors) and had some birds with blue legs also. The rooster has the cinnamon triangle in the wing like the wheatens. The hen also...
Do not use peroxide it kills skin cells, saline would be better. Do not remove the scab, leave it alone. When a dog attacks a hen, the hen squats much like when a rooster tops her, which is why dogs kill more hens than roos. From the picture she is bit in the back. Her lungs are in her back. Do...
My Internet is now an Android phone so texting is very time consuming. My cell phone 740-607-9225 is best to reach me. I will try to help you help your birds.
