By way of an update... our poor little Red Star is still hot to the touch with crispy skin and poor broken crispy feathers. So far we have:
Made a very good dust bath with Ash, DE, Sand, Top Soil
Coated each bird in DE by hand

Not broody at all (unlike others.....)
They have all the dried worms and black oil seeds they can eat, so protein should be good right?
We live in a very dry environment... mold is hard to get here.
