I thought it was weird, I've never seen a tick on any of the other geese or ducks. And I def know they are out there!
So our baby rested in the stall with her teenage husband. She was not limping at all at evening check.
This AM her swelling was all gone and her bruise was...
Hi All,
I have a sebastopol gosling ( 1 1/2 month old) that I noticed was limping this afternoon. We caught her up and she had a large bruise covering her two outer toes and up her ankle. it was swollen and slightly warm. In the swollen folds of her toes, I pulled a small lone start tick...
Hi All- My two 2 month old runner ducklings are having a hard time integrating into my runner flock.
I have 1 drake runner and 2 hens (I had 2 hen runner mixes, but rehomed them to replace with the new ducklings). I also have a mated pair of sebastopols.
I raised up 2 runner hens and 1...
Thats what I figured. Just figured I would ask. I splinted it last night, and today he was using it more normally with the splint. I took it off while we went out to eat, to minimize rub areas. But now he is sliding backwards. I am going to splint it again overnight and tomorrow. Hoping...
I am happy to hear the donkey got a new educated home. I am eventually going to get a donkey, but not ready yet. But that poor donk did need help. I am kicking my self that I didn't ask price.
This was my first time there too. We just browsed, but got there late (1-2 pmish) so everyone was...
Any update on this duckling? I just had a shipped runner duck egg hatch out with underbite and a clubbed or bent foot. He is hobbling on the joint like a peg leg, it will bend when i move it by hand, but wont stay. I will work on a split. But just curious your out come.
Thanks,
Abbey
SOLD! I have two 1 month old Sebastopol goslings for sale. I suspect both are female- one is white and the other appears to be a blue/grey splash or saddle back (not really familiar with colored bird terms). They were on hold for someone who is no longer picking them up. They have been raised...
Oh yeah, That is why i made this post. I want to rehome them as my runners are multiplying and I have great stature now. They did their part of keeping my 3 original runners friends while i grew my flock and provided good eating eggs. But I wanted to be sure they weren't another type of...
I'm surprised Hatcheries would have these as runners. They are more than double the width/weight, and their beaks turn up instead of slop down like a runner. I am glad I didnt order from one then. The only thing that could be a runner is their coloration.
I got this pair of females off CL last summer. They were supposed to be fawn and white Runners. The photos weren't good, but i was desperate to find runner friends for my first, lonely runner. I drove over an hour to get them. And when I got there, I knew they weren't runners. But took them...
Thanks, RURU. I am surprised she has this- she did a picture perfect unzipping without help. Her egg was perfectly cracked with separated lid. Glad to hear it is semi normal and fixable.
Now to find the perfect snuggle buddy stuffed animal.
Thanks! Does the umbilicus connect through the vent?
I applied iodine and have her sitting in the incubator still on paper towels. Looks like it is shrinking and less swollen, but the gooey red stuff is similar sized.
I will set up a separate brooder for her.
Hi All,
My sebatopol goslings are hatching. My first was out this AM, looks good. My second unzipped and popped out maybe an hour ago. She went on a walk about over all the other eggs in the incubator and left a bloody trail.
I lifted her up to see this large, swollen area with more...
I got back intown last night and it was dead. Stinks knowing we caused it to suffocate to death. I'm bummed you guys didn't answer sooner, then we could have had a chance. Now on to the next 6 eggs.
