    That's what I'll be doing, I think because if I enclose the entire space, there's nowhere to dig under. Dig in a foot, lay hardware cloth and up the sides, refill and hope that their exclusion from the chicken area sends them packing. That and continue to trap the less clever ones. Thanks all!

    Great idea but we're a dog household. No one living here, including the dogs, are cat lovers. But it would be great if I lived on a bigger property with a barn! Thanks for responding.

    I have 6 beautiful chickens, 1 and 2 year olds from 2 different Saturday afternoon excursions to the Chick store. Life was ideal with them clucking in the back yard and laying eggs all day long. Until it wasn't. Now I'm faced with the decision to battle the odds and keep them (my preference)...

    Sorry to hear of her passing, bny806. So sad. Ten chicks, her back end was a mess, all stuffed up and swollen. I washed her out and checedk for blockages. She seemed better the next day but then went into the coop and wouldn't come out. I started her on antibiotics but she stopped drinking...

    My big Turken has the same problem. I know she is dying and I don't know how to help her. Unlike most chicken deaths, this one is dying like a human. I've bathed her back end and I've forcefed her liquids with anitbiotics. I did take her out for fresh air but it's now painful for her to move...
