Should I separate the bully for a few days to see if that helps? I see her every day being aggressive to the others and she is mounting them also, and grabbing them by the feathers.
If they are bullied so much would that cause them stress that they slow down on the eggs?
They have all laid eggs, I have had many days, I get 10 eggs - at least I used to :-( Would she start crowing?
Aren't they to young at 14 months to slow down so much?
I am pretty sure it is not a predator stealing the eggs, I collect them several times a day. Have never found any broken...
You think another hen is causing this? I do have one hen that will mount the others. It could be her.
The only question is why the big drop in egg production? Being only 14 months old, they shouldn't be slowing down that much, especially this time of year, should they?
I found this article on how to treat for mites and lice. Need to retreat in 7 days. Here is the link.

I have 10 hens, ( no roosters ) 3 RIR, 3 Barred Rocks and 4 Austrolorps. They are 14 months old. For the last month my egg production has dropped drastically. This last week we get 4 eggs everyday.
One of the Austrolorp has strange feathers at the tail base, and a couple of the girls have lost...
I have been feeding fermented feed for a few months now. I have 10 hens. I feed 2 times a day, about 10 - 11 cups total. The last 2 days they are not eating as usual. Half the fermented feed is left over.
The feed smells and looks as usual. The girls are all acting fine, I am getting between 7-...
The girls were making a lot of racket yesterday, went out to check and did not see anything until it flew up into the neighbor tree. It was a red tail. He was down checking it out the girls, looking for a way in??? luckily he did not find one. There has also been a stray cat hanging around. I...

Thank you for the ideas! I do think I will go with the stair step, also the cinder blocks are a great idea. I hadn't thought of that, but that would make leveling the sections easier. Did you use the bead of contractor adhesive, on top of the blocks and under the frame wood? Is that a...
Angiebubs,
So sorry to hear this! This is my first time having chicks, so I am not experienced enough to be much help. Do you follow the Chicken Chick and Fresh Eggs Daily blogs? They are also on facebook and have a lot of info and focus on doing things as natural as possible, when possible...
I have a barred rock, that look just like yours. Mine are 21 weeks, all have red large combs except for the one is lighter and small, but otherwise healthy. I just assumed she was slower to mature. I sure hope "she" is not a "he". Roos are not allowed here either. The comb looks like the others...
The chicks are just so cute! Looks like a chicken paradise, and for you too! It is fun to see other set ups. Looks like you have a lot of space which is nice. Very nice, thanks so much for sharing.
Eggette, is that a tree trunk I see in your photo? That is unbelievable. I feel your pain with the mud. After a rain, I go up on the hill and see exactly were the water is coming from and follow the path then a have piled rocks to slow it down and divert it. This has worked well I haven't had...
Eggette Is that a rabbit I see? The dog kennel is great, I saw someone using the same kind in their coop on a chicken coop tour. You can get lots of good ideas and meet fellow chicken owners. She also had a large plastic storage container in the run with a large hole cut out of the side for the...
Sounds like you have a lot of chicken and space! How fun having new little chicks. Did you hatch them yourself? Would love to see photos. I have 10, a mix of 3 road Islands, 3 barred rocks and 4 australorps. Just got my first egg on Sunday. So exciting!
Wow, there are a lot of beautiful coops here!
Here is my coop, finished in May 2014. The girls were so happy to move in, and a few days later they experienced their first snow on Mother's Day. It did look so pretty covered in snow
I decided to raise the coop off the ground, my backyard is a...
Thank you for the reply. I hadn't thought of PVC, that is a great idea. Love the sandbox idea as well. I do plan on arranging the rocks better. Most of them I dug up when I built the chicken coop. It was all I could handle at the time... was to carry them up the hill and drop them wherever. They...
Thank you for the reply. Glad to hear the bird netting works for you. I am sure you get lots of snow in WI. I think I will try it.
Still hoping for more ideas on the slope. I am thinking not to many have this problem :-). If only I could let them free range, but with wildlife here I don't dare...
