Hello,
I recently lost one of my 3 girls about a month ago (alpha) and Ive noticed a change in my two remaining hens. They seem a bit bored and almost confused. I live in an area where i cannot simply buy more hens to replace my lost one. Plus, Ive been working a lot so they dont have much time...
Hm yes that can be done too.. good idea! & only from the sides when it’s raining from an angle (like the edges of the inside coop would get wet but not the center)
Im looking to add better sand/dirt to my girls coop (around at least half of it to be exact) . I do have a few things though, it has to be something that wont get damaged by rain or become icky (the coop is opened all around so water gets in very easily) . I would like something that wont harm...
This is just a little update. This is their day 2 in the coop but i feel like im about to crack and let them out .. so i have a question if anyone can help answer? I went to check on them this morning and found several feathers around the coop. They do this every time theyre in there for too...
Aw ok thats great advice! I think i should give it a shot i do love them a lot and would be happy if i could get them to cooperate with me lol. I’ll try this out thanks again!!
They know one of their treat bags but they arent always convinced by it. I even tried feeding them only inside their coop once they go in for the evening but it doesnt always work.
Oh okay. Wow 70 ! Thats awesome and here im heaving a hard time with 3:barnie I mean, it is worth a shot .
Their coop has no ‘dark’ spaces though for the night. Its a 7x11 rectangle with hardware cloth all around, and like a foot underneath too.the roof is simply wood so sunlight hardly gets...
Ive had my 3 girls for over a year now and Ive managed to keep them alive and happy for a while now And I truly love them to death but its getting harder trying to corral them every night on the dot. I live in a place where chickens arent allowed so I have no choice but to round them up...
I just did a little identification test to help me narrow it down and it says an “Everglades Racer”. So I'm not as concerned as before (phew!!). There are a few rats and mice here so maybe thats why its around?? When my girls lay eggs I always put them inside right away. I’ll still keep an eye...
I stepped outside in the front porch and found this little guy slithering around. I can tell it’s not venomous or bad but I just wanted to know what type of snake it is?
Does it pose a threat to my chickens? I have 3 very small hens (one is about the size of a pigeon). I got a few pics of him...
Can anyone let me know if any of these eggs are possibly fertile or not? Thanks you :)17157950-C726-437B-88AD-C5B7AF0E5D36 by nicoleee posted Oct 27, 2018 at 1:51 PM9EE12DC0-9B16-4787-89B4-7F10903616CC by nicoleee posted Oct 27, 2018 at 1:51 PMCC75CAE1-CA10-4020-AD61-03DE2C168F10 by nicoleee...
