    Thanks! That is very encouraging! Can I ask what your air cells look like on your no turn eggs? And where on the egg are they PIPing? Are they set on their side? Or upright just not turned?

    Yes I had read that so when I saw the veins that is what I did and returned it to the incubator. Just wondering if there is anything to do now? Besides wait. This is day 24 and all the other chicks hatched on 21 and 22.

    Mortality rates 2016

    Sorry to hear about the bad luck with shipping. Both of my shipments came within 48hrs. So that shouldn't have been a factor beyond the normal stress that comes with being shipped. Maybe I'm just having bad luck.

    I agree with Lisa LouHoo. Looks like a big comb and wattle but didn't know that you could tell anything from the tail. Is that particular to this breed or something you see in all cockerels?

    It's wonderful to have some idea of what we may have!! I'm hoping you are all right those breeds would be fun! Now I at least have a place to start my own research! These pic were yesterday and the chicks were just 5days old so hope with each day it will get easier to tell what is what.
