    Mycoplasma synoviae-treatment?

Hi Ragreer My speckled sussex seems about the same but it does seem that her feet are gradually getting more swollen each fall. I have tried Tylan injectible twice and Denguard once without seeing an improvement. I wish I could help her. Not sure what to do next? Do you think its worth a...

    Mycoplasma synoviae-treatment?

Eggcessive- Thank you for your helpful comments. I ordered some Denagard, after doing some more research on Mycoplasma. Like Baytril, Denagard may work in cases of Tylosin-resistant strains of M. synoviae.

    Mycoplasma synoviae-treatment?

    hen with swollen, yellow leg

Good news! The Speckled Sussex's leg is almost back to normal again. It was yellow and puffy and felt like one of those fat tumors under the skin (like the yellow fat you see on poultry but all concentrated above her hock joint). She never limped or acted like it was painful. Has anyone...

    hen with swollen, yellow leg

Hi all, I have a 1.5 yr old Speckled Sussex hen with a swollen leg (the feathered part of her leg-aka tibia/fibula). When you press on it lightly it looks and feels like the fat like you see on a butchered hen, but her other leg is so much more slender and lean. The skin of the lower part of...

    newbie

Hi all, I have been a guest for awhile on Backyard Chickens and have enjoyed all of the help and info from this wonderful site. Thought I would finally join. I have had chickens since I was 12 (since 1980). Right now my family (my husband and 6 and 8 year old girls) have three hens - 2...
