I gave her some antibiotics in her water and she's been getting better each day! I'm still not sure what it is that she has, but she's walking around and opening her eyes more now :)
I got the dewormer and gave her some electrolytes by syringe. She's not really opening her eyes very much at all today, so she can't see any food or water that I put in front of her..
Right now it's not as much trouble walking as just a reluctance to walk and she's very lethargic. Her wings are still drooping. I'll pick up a wormer at the feed store tomorrow. What's the best way to give it to her? Thanks again for all your help!
She's a year and 3 months old. I did notice that she had a buildup of poop around her vent, but not enough to block it.. it didn't look like diarrhea though. Could I treat the flock for coccidiosis even if it turns out that she doesn't have it? I don't really want to take her into a vet, so any...
@Eggcessive : Thanks for the response! I did check around her vent and didn't notice any lice or mites, but I'll definitely take your advice for hydrating and cooling her down a bit.

Chickens are really great for kids, as long as they're gentle with them as chicks! If you really want chicks right now, you could always order them from Murray McMurray, My Pet Chicken, or another hatchery near you. I'm not sure how many you want, but some hatcheries have a...
Try just putting your hand in the brooder palm up and don't move it. They'll get used to it after a few minutes and if you do that for a little bit each day, they'll hopefully start walking on your hands and you can slowly lift them up. If they jump off when you start to lift your hand, just put...
Thanks for the reply! These ones will be the same size as mu current chickens, so that's not a problem and I do have enough space in both the run and coop. So it doesn't sound like I need to quarantine, but how long do people normally quarantine new chickens and is the reason to do this just to...
Hello everyone! I will be getting 3 new chickens soon and I was wondering what the best way to introduce them to my existing flock would be. Would it be the absolute worst to just put them in the run with my 4 current bantams? My chickens are pretty easygoing, so I can't imagine them picking a...
