    Hen died, what's the illness?

My hen started acting lethargic 2 days ago. She would lay in the corner of the hen house, stopped laying eggs, would barely walk- keeping her bottom and tail feathers down, and had a little bit of difficulty keeping her balance. We thought she had broken an egg inside her bc her stool was runny...

How to teach Ethel to use a nesting box and not the ivy when laying eggs???

We are having the same problem! Only, we do not know which of our 7 are those laying. My father-in-law said to put the laid egg in the nesting box and then put her on it (which we can't do b/c we don't know which hen is laying). Maybe you can try that? We just got our 2nd layer today, the...

I had read that, but our other 10 started eating right away, so with him not being able to walk well, I was worried.

chick not eating or drinking, help!

When I took the bandaid booties off, his feet looked much better. I tried putting new ones on him, but he wasn't able to get around at all, so I took them off. I put the thingy around his legs to hold them together, but his leg doesn't go out to the side, it sprawls out behind him, so now both...

chick not eating or drinking, help!

Hubby is on his way to the store to buy some coban (or Vet Wrap) so we can make him up a "cast". Hopefully fixing his leg and foot will help him ambulate & in turn help him eat. Thank you!

chick not eating or drinking, help!

One of our chicks has a curled in foot and the other leg extends out behind him constantly. I put the little band-aid boots on him and that has helped, but not sure what to do with the leg. Anyway, I have never seen him eating or drinking (we have him separated from the other chicks with his...

I just noticed that the little one has a deformed foot. The claw that's suppose to be on the back of the foot is on the side (like where our thumbs are) and his other claws kinda curl in. Do you think he'll ever be able to walk correctly? He walks in a circle, stumbling right now. The other...

First up: Our eggs started hatching early Monday morning. This morning we had another one hatch and I just put him in the brood. The older chicks started pecking him. I got a little tupperware bowl, put some shavings in it, put him in it, and placed it all in the brood under one of the heat...
