I have been thinking of adding some sort of heatsink, mounted near the light bulb to try and smooth out the temperature fluctuations a bit with my home made incubator. What works well as a heat sink? I was considering a brick or stone, as I think they would hold their heat well.
Any thoughts...
Understandable. But I want to build the incubator to be able to house an auto turner, hence why I would like to know the sizes of avaiable units out there. I don't want to be tied to one particular unit, if one pops up that is a reasonable amount, I can buy it. I would like to be able to...
Possibly considering building my own incubator. I would probably have to buy the egg turner though. Can anyone tell me the dimensions of their turners? Also should mention the brand & model of your turner. So far I got some dimensions from a LG model saying it is 15" X 15" X 4 3/4"
Does...
After looking at the link, I noticed this unit does not come with or is capable of an auto turner. The much more expensive one below can be used with the optional auto turner.

Hopefully this works. This is what you need.
The easiest method is to find an old used wall plug adaptor for somehting you have laying around. This could be an old cell phone charger, aswering machine adapter, flash light charger, etc. Basically a small box type of wall plug in. Hopefully you know what I mean, it basically cuts the 110V...
We are looking at trying our hand at hatching our own eggs. First time ever for us. I understand the candleing of eggs, but what do you do with the brown ones? From what I have read, you cannot candle brown eggs. Do you just put them in the incubator and hope for the best? What about the...
I got a used one off EBAY!
Hi,
We are looking at trying to hatch a few of our own eggs. I am going to try and build my own incubator, but would like to have the auto turner, as I won't be home during the day to do it. Does anyone have an egg turner they would like to sell at a reasonable...
Thanks for the links, I will check them out.
We have already ordered chicks from Rochester Hatchery, and I have also spoken to Performance Poultry, but they are not selling hatching eggs this year.
This may not be the best place to ask, but I am interested in purchasing hatching eggs. How long can they be in transit, or how long from the time they are laid, can they be stored before they are incubated?
