When we get a bunch of gray/rainy days, the coyotes strike. That's why I was posting. We have a small flock of geese and our gander disappeared yesterday. We are going to try some sheep this spring, and have decided to re home the geese. As of yesterday, the flock is now 2 White Chinese girls...

Cotton Patch are at the top of my list, but the cost and wait makes it an unlikely prospect. I've seen someone on craigslist in Pleasant View, TN advertising that they will put you on their wait list for goslings at $40 each. Since I've never had geese before, I'd like to spend a less just to...

Thanks for the suggestion. We got pullets from them a couple of years ago, and weren't impressed. I hope they have improved since then. I think the owner was having some health problems at the time. Also, it is a pretty long haul since we are in Hickman County.

We're looking at adding some geese to our flock. Does anyone know of a breeder in the area? This is our first time having geese, so we're flexible on breed. We're okay with purchasing from a hatchery, but would rather buy local, if that is an option. Thanks!

Hi all, We live in Hickman County, and we're looking for a rooster of breeding age to join our flock. We have Barred Rock, Black Australorp, and Rhode Island Red hens. We usually get a couple of hens that go broody in the spring and we would like for them to be able to hatch their own eggs this...

Hi all, I'm in Hickman county, and we have a broody hen who is determined to hatch some chicks this fall. Is there anyone nearby who would sell us a few hatching eggs? We are looking for pure bred eggs. We currently have barred rocks, but would consider other heritage breeds as well. Thanks!

    pullet can't stand/loss of balance

Thanks for the links. Of the different kinds of Mareks, it seems like the kind that affects the internal organs would be the most likely if that is what she has. Her legs are not paralyzed and they do not point in opposite directions. Her legs are both quite functional, she just can't balance...

    pullet can't stand/loss of balance

Hi all, we could really use some ideas here. We have been scouring the internet since this incident happened, and nothing seems to be helping. Also, if this sounds like Marek's please let us know if there are specific things to look for, as the condition of our hen is not worsening. Thanks...
