Yes, he is the son of the Silkie and we think his mom was our Salmon Faverole. He is much bigger than our silkie (dad). Our coop is 18' x 5' and we have 8 hens. Plus they free range nearly every day. They start to fight if they are together for one second. Perhaps if I monitor time together it...
So, one is a bantam silkie (we think.... we adopted (thinking he was a hen) him as a baby that someone didn't want. The second is when we let our hen hatch some eggs and he is one of the babies.
By a couple different incidents, we have ended up with 2 roosters. At first it was fine but now they fight. Any way to make that work peacefully, short of keeping them separated (which is what we are doing now). Thank you for your advice.
My Australorp is a sweetheart. I babied my cochin and she is my least friendly. But my Australorp runs to me when I go outside, lets us hold her, is gentle and sweet. I think a lot of it is how you deal with them when they are babies. Plus she lays everyday!
