So update... I locked Big Pappa up in the coop ( with minimal food and water) for the past week and just let the others(hopefully hens) free range in our yard. When I let him out finally yesterday he was a little less aggressive hopefully it will last but it sounds like the older they get the...
So far no eggs yet I only have one old enough to lay ( A RIR 6.5 months) and Im pretty sure its a rooster...or a mean/confused/loud mother clucker. I Have five others- All Americanas only 3.5-4 months old...I should start getting eggs soon..at least I hope.

SO I have a 5.5 month old chicken named Big Momma(RIR) and she is very sweet to me and my son, because we are the ones feeding her everyday...however she is NOT so nice to my husband, and is starting to get mean with the other chickens also( the other 5 chickens are Americana's and about 2 1/2...

YEAH, I am sure not used to this cold I made another run outside to uncover the plants and came back in to a house of roaming chicks!! Learned a valuable lesson. .chicks can run FAST & Keep three year old son and chickens separated when unattended!! Now to get the girls back to the pin!!
