I am trying to raise my own, I have a container now crawling with beetles waiting for the mealworms to make an appearance.

I have so many beetles right now I can’t count them all. They are roaming all over the bin. I put in fresh potatoes this morning and they are all over them. Will write more later. What a great web site.

I leave my potatoes in the container for about 3 days or until they are covered up and dry. The beetles are very busy so I am keeping a close eye on everything.

I had the same problem, added oyster shell and it has solved the problem so far.

Have finally found a way to stop the egg eating. I purchased a wireless camera to watch the nests and so far I have been able to watch and collect all of the eggs before the girls get a chance to break the eggs.
