Too funny! I keep my hens strictly for pets and consider the eggs a "byproduct." I generally feed the eggs back to the hens (scrambled) and to the dogs as we don't eat very many ourselves. Today I got 18 eggs out of 26 hens, go figure! It's soooo cold here I wish they would slow down a bit...

I have hens that are 8 years old that are still laying almost as much as the young ones. Good food and care goes a long way :)

We grow wheat grass for our chickens in the winter and when the grass is scarce. The absolutely love it!
