I have grown Charleston Gray and Carolina Rattlesnake. Both are sweet and get large. Had a few Rattlesnake go over 60 lbs. This was on a vine with lots of room, well fed and fruit thinned to 2 melons per vine. I continued to save seed from the 2 largest to grow the next year. I may still...
Good luck with the yellows!
All in one bed I have a couple plants each of pumpkin, butternut squash, watermelon and cantaloupe. The vines all run together. The cantaloupe is always ready first. Have to be careful picking those.
I am seeing die back now in that bed. I will be harvesting pie...
I know. I need to fix that.
Heck, I have barely grown the green ones this year. Dang weather! I do have enough for a couple meals I just picked. Will process those today. They are still making blooms so maybe I will get more.

That makes me want to prune my watermelon vines next year.
I mostly grow pie pumpkins now but have in the past grown some larger ones. I've noticed the same about seed size. Giant pumpkins usually have the largest seeds.
In watermelons, I have read that cutting the vines back encourages ripening.
Although I've not tried this I wonder if it is true for pumpkins and other winter squash.
I hope you really, really, really like zucchini!
I see you recieved some really good suggestions to preserve it. I do most of these too. My chickens enjoy some chilled on hot days. I give alot away also.
Here I sit with another mountain of zucchini in my kitchen that I picked...
Peace in the coop is always a blessing!
Occasional chaos in my coop at the moment.
1 of the young cockerals has decided he will attempt to show his stuff. His crow has gotten better and he has been practicing his mating dance. It needs work. The older hens will just stare at him with...
