pipping but not hatching, need the experts help

I assisted it but it was already dead. I think it died over night. I'm now sitting up with one that is taking it's sweet time but is still peeping here and there so I'm hopeful. We had two others hatch healthy this afternoon and another one die. What makes them start to zip then die?

pipping but not hatching, need the experts help

I have a chick that pipped over 12 hours ago. It made a nice little hole and we could see it looking like it was taking breaths. Today it looks like it's beak is poking out of the hole but there hasn't been any progress or movement. Should I consider it dead?

Hi Guys, I have a question: I have a broody sitting on fertile eggs I bought from a local source here in Vegas. They weren't due to hatch until Thursday but I found two partially hatched and dead yesterday and one today. One also hatched successfully today, seems fine and is peeping away...

Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

Oh, I know she means no harm. There are 3 side-by-side nests and she's in the first one. I'd like to move her but have read so many things about them not sitting anymore after the move I've been worried about doing it. I will read over the last two weeks. I have a nice quiet private nesting...

Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

Hello! I have just realized over the last few days that my Australorp is very broody. Today I ordered 9 fertile eggs (giving 3 to a friend with a broody) and am reading and learning as much as possible. Very excited! Planning to move mama after the chicks hatch to a smaller pen within the...

Can lice cause a chicken to have shakiness and trouble walking?

I don't know if they've been vaccinated. They are on a good layer feed. I'm in Vegas and the weather has been ridiculously nice so I don't think it is a cold issue. They have normal looking poop and then a runny one here and there. If it were Mareks, would the antibiotics make a difference...

Can lice cause a chicken to have shakiness and trouble walking?

Hi, I bought some chickens a little over a week ago and one has been having a hard time almost from day one. She was walking really poorly and laying down all the time. I didn't know what to do so began adding some tetracycline to her water (it was all our neighborhood feed store had) and...

    Hello

Hello, I am new and hope I am posting in the correct area! (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I had chickens many years ago as a teenager then again in my mid 20's but it's been awhile! My current chickens have been with us for 12 days. (2) How many chickens...
