    wow, yea maybe i should just buy me a silkie to brood all future chickens from now on, are they sensitive to chicks? cuz some hard brooders just stare at an egg outside of the nest while others immediately retrieve them. will post pics of chicks soon

    hi, thanks, the wound is massive on back of head and has exposed the skull, about 1 cm of it. so will a solution applyed only hurt the chick more?

    I would recommend some Rhode island hens for you, hardy chooks and can also be eaten. Lay big size 7 to 8 eggs, 250 to 320 a year. I would not get chickens until you have done lots of research on them, like on all the desieses and free range lots, also mites and cures. Research really helped...
