Adding Eggs to an Incubation that's already started.

Thank you all so much for the affirmation. I'm hoping that I get a few of his off spring, if all (now 18 hatch - I couldn't resist adding a few more) I will have to enlarged my coop!

Adding Eggs to an Incubation that's already started.

Hi Friends! I recently had a roo that got seriously hurt and had to be put down. To me he was a beloved Roo and came when I called his name. I decided that I would try to hatch out some of his girls' eggs. I had only one laid on the 22nd, and 5 laid from the 23rd, and 6 from the 24th. I read...

    Update on my surprise visit

They're very timid but one will eat out of my hand. I'm noticing they're all getting easier to coop at night and even seem as if they want to be cooped. So maybe the other enclosure really isn't necessary.

    Update on my surprise visit

I just finished reading the thread and my instincts are to grab him by the neck and give him a good shove, I've also pinched his feet (like he pinches mine) and i've gone after his wings, but then I felt bad about that, so he's done for now, I ain't no gander's (right word) b*tch.

    Update on my surprise visit

LOL, thank you!!! I thought because of the saying "what's good for the goose, is good for the gander" meant that what's good for the boy is also good for the girl, but I guess that assumption is backwards. Thanks for the correction. As far as the wing clipping, remember it was an idiot who put...

    Update on my surprise visit

Last summer you may remember reading about four geese that came to my house. Tried as I might, I kept those geese in my yard but with little success. I only have a 10X10 chicken coop with 13 chickens in it. I kept the geese in the fenced in part of my back yard, but that was problematic. I...

] This is the one that the neighbor's dogs attacked, she seems fine, but just has a little sore on her foot. This is the big male. My goal is to also get him in a fence, but he's less trusting of me. It might be because when I gave him some scratch one day and he went after my hand to bite it I...

Sad news with a happy ending.

For those of you who have been following the "Surprising Visit" post, this is an update A couple of days ago, I let the geese out to romp with the chickens. They seemed so happy to be out of the backyard and wandered to my nieghbor's house to chase the ducks and see the big male goose that stays...
