I'm in central Michigan , put ours in Saturday. We had a couple good days, got about ten gallons now we froze up for a couple days but warm weather coming, like 50's woohoo
Anybody Tapping early this year. We had some pretty warm weather stretch last week , and it looked like the trees were starting to bud. Crossed my mind to put a tap in.
Got more planted over the past couple days. Broccoli and more Kale and Paris carrots on the bottom. Going to build a raised bed up top and plant lettuce with pole beans behind the lettuce, and radish and peas down the slope around the driveway.
I start by saying people should be allowed to have as many chicken as they please. But since the government feels the need to set limits on everything we do I guess 12 would be a fair number. And since the government feels the need to tell us where to put our chicken coops on our own properties...
Things are slowing down, Think its time to pull the taps also. Been a Fun season , Thanks for all the input. We will have to fire this thread back up next season lol.
Yea I pulled almost 15 gallons from one tree the other day. She has 3 taps in her. Im tired of boiling lol. Its been nice to have this 2 day break the sap has slowed down. Still got 20 gal on deck to boil.
Wowwww just went out and to check the buckets and overflowing. Trees are running like crazy today. Biggest run yet. Wonder if its because we got some rain.
