    Thank you for the reasurance. I mean I love my girls but would like an occasional offering from them The isa brown was an after thought and I am so grateful to her. BTW, they are all the same age.

    I am sooo disappointed. My isa brown has been laying for weeks and those 3 "whities" - nothing. They are getting fatter by the day. I feed them laying pellets, kitchen scraps and some fallen fruits. Even oats and sultanas as a treat. Have I bought 3 nuns? There is no rooster.

    digitS' : When they first start laying, pullets have a lot of "misses." Someone said that it takes awhile for the plumbing to work right. That's about it. I read that as many as 40% of the first ova are reabsorbed rather than continuing to develop into an egg. How this is known, I'm not sure...
