Just my luck.I wanted white eggs.I now have 17 hens laying brown eggs. I was told they would lay white so I purchased 6 tetras and they are all laying brown. My husband will not eat brown eggs I don't know why . Hens anyone? lol
Has anyone gotten brown eggs from tetras? Or mine something other .Tractor supply said they were tetras and they look like them only I am getting brown eggs.
I have a year and half old hen that lays shellless eggs too. I give them layer, grit and oyster shell .Before the oyster shell she would do it daily now that I added the oyster shell its only a few times a week.So guess it helps.I don't know why she does it but she does.I been looking on all the...
I just got my first egg from my tetra tints. They just turned 16 wks so I didn't expect any this soon. I thought they were suppose to be white? Mine looks brown with lots of white spots and feels rough. I purchased them from tractor supply this year .Look at my egg pic and tell me what you think?
I purchased the oyster shell and it hasn't helped. When I open the coop door in the morning all the chickens run out and every night the chicken who lays the egg without the shell looks like she cant make it back to the coop.Sometime I have to carry her its hard to explain she looks like shes...
I bet she went broody. This winter it was below 0 and I had a hen missing for over a month and she came back.Dont ask me how she survived.I don't have a rooster so no babys but I think she may have been under one of the sheds on eggs.I also called and looked daily. My chickens always come when...
Grit I read on here once to give them grit and to buy it from walmart in the pet department. The other birds have no problems. Should I change to oyster shell? If so where do I get it?
The same thing happen to one of my hens a few months ago.I just watched her and it did get better.I don't know what happened to her as my hens fee range all day long.Give it time hopefully you will have the same results.
My hen is 13 months old and is dropping eggs with no shell then all the chickens eat it.What can be causing this? I feed then layer by duram and I always have a bowl of grit in the coop.I am afraid they will start eating the shelled eggs in the coop. This has been going on for awhile.
