2 week old French Wheaten Marans

Just for an update - here are my 3 boys!! One still has a bigger comb but there is no mistaking them now. Got a home for one, going to try and keep one ourselves and as for the third.....friend has a recipe for chicken risotto lined up! Thanks for your advice!

2 week old French Wheaten Marans

Update now I've had more time to take photos! First is Big Yellow (definitely a boy) and then identical looking Pip and Merry (looking more dodgy every day!). On our third batch of garden hybrids, currently have a RIR cross, a Sussex and a Daisybelle but our excitement has been just hatching our first chicks! 4 out of 6 French Wheaten Marans hatched and...

2 week old French Wheaten Marans

New to the forum and although we've had chickens for years, we are very new to growing our own, but amazed at successfully incubating and hatching 4 out of 6 of the French Wheaten Maran eggs we got. Now very confused as to whether they are boys or girls.....constantly looking for darker wing...
