Well hatching is over...... Started with 20 eggs.....3 was not fertile when candled at day 7. So that left me with 17. I now have 16 baby chicks, had one that didn't hatch and I opened egg up and poor guy looked deformed. Legs backwards and feet turned way in. So I'd call that a 99% hatch rate...
no you are correct. he PIPed the wrong end but so far seems to be ok. He is still moving around inside the egg so I hope he makes it out. I woke up this morning to 3 others that have PIPed. To bad I won't be home till tomorrow morning.
Came home to a PIP yay! The eggs that are hatching now are all different and mixed. Got them from a buddy since it was my first time incubating. My hen that I hope starts setting soon is a RIR. My next batch going into incubator is quail.
She is not setting yet. I've been stealing all her eggs due to not having a rooster old enough to fertilize the eggs, but now that they are getting fertilized I'm going to stop stealing the eggs. I hope she sets.
Thank you also found out some great news today. My oldest hen that I have left from buying 8 at a feed store has been laying for about 3 months now. I bought some more babies from a local guy and they was quite a bit younger then her. I cracked an egg tonight to use in cornbread and it had a...
Well I candled them again tonight just to double check what I did yesterday... Still appears that only those two were bad, so I pulled them out and put them in a ziploc bag. Closed my eyes and cracked them open. Don't know what I would have done if there had been chicks in them lol. They was...
You wouldn't want the heating unit just the thermostat. I've only seen the 110v but I'd say you have to have them. You should be able to find it at a local hardware store. So all of your electricity is 220v?
Are you in China? I was going to suggest getting a lower unit hot water heater thermostat and mounting in right between the lights. You would have to relocate your fans though.
