Yesterday I got a total of 15. But that includes some from the day before, I think. I caught a new layer in the box..... so cute. And for those that asked..... my big birth a egg weighed in at 92 grams.
So my new found rooster Percy has attempted to start crowing. The 1st couple of days I though someone was dying until I figured out what was happening. It's hilarious but he won't do it when I am in the room. I am trying to record it
I will try it. Percy and Pollie are still inside so it will be awhile. My run is pretty small. Adequate room but not sure about 2 roosters. Family vote says Obie will go to a friends house and Percy and Pollie will stay
A friend asked me if I eat the eggs. I said yes. She crinkled her nose and said she didnt.thinm she could. Asked me if the different colored ones tasted different. (Yep the have a chocolate flavor). She said the thought of fresh eggs creeped her out and that she would have to spray paint them...
So I have these sweet silkies Percy and Pollie and I just took a as good look at Percy. He is officially a rooster. So I am assuming that he and my current rooster will not cohabitation well..... my other rooster is a little guy but not a silkie.
Awwww..... I just found out one of my silkies is a rooster so I hope to figure out how to hatch fluffy baby eggs. :)
I got 2 eggs. But someone flipped the nesting box over and one cracked. But I have 2 official layers

@WendyF Mine are free loading pretty bad. But I suppose they are hours of entertainment. Lol. That's my buff Basil and Sparky is a Red Star. She is the layer of 14 layable birdd. They are lucky they are cute
I have 2 large labs and 3 cats. I got my 1st flock in may of this year. I have one dog that's wants to sniff butts. Other than not one time have I had an issue. I think it depends on the type and temperament of the dog. By getting a puppy, having them around each other will teach the dog they...
Yes, it is a busy road. I try to keep an eye on them and coax them back to the back of the yard. And throw our own cracked corn around to keep them busy. Little scavengers
