I have 150 cornish x from Central Hatchery that need to go ASAP! I thought my order was cancelled. They were just delivered @4pm May 29. I DO NOT have the ability to care for any chicks right now. Located in Ft. Wayne, IN.
$4 is pretty par. I charge $2. Some people have actually gave me more and told me I wasn't charging enough. Lol. On average, it costs me about $0.72 to produce 1 dozen eggs.
A mosin nagant will cost you about $100. It shoots a 7.62x54R. Bolt action 5 shot. Big enough for the large game and cheap enough to leave you a budget for a .22lr pistol.
I would just cut out any affected part; anything that got bile on it. You still have a lot of bird to use. If i was worried about it, if just quarter it and cook it however you wanted.
I'm assuming the sac broke, possibly inside the bird while it was on its back. That still leaves you 2...
Did you puncture the bile sac? It looks like a dark green/black sac on the liver. If you did, you'd notice green liquid. It can spoil the meat. You can cut out the affected area if you did. And since you cut into the intestines, you could be smelling feces. It's not a waste either way. Just...
How big are they at 6mos? I'm guessing they are similar to any other sex link bird, weighing up 8lbs mature and close to 4lbs at 6 months. Just wondering if anyone has experience.
None dead today. I did find poop on the highest roost I set up yesterday, but don't know who did it. Here's what I did today.
And cut out more of the wire for a doorway.
I do have some wire. I could simply divide the coop in half. During the day, they'd probably roam between the divider, but the younger birds tend to stay on the left side of the coop and the older birds roost on the right at night. Hopefully their morning things are ok and I'll be able to get...
No idea how I'm going to do that. Even with the door open, there's barely a draft. If there is one, it blows directly into the corner my turkey was dead in. The coop is blocked on every side except the north side which has half a fence and barn in front of it. Even with the biggest wind gusts...
I'm not sure what you mean. I have a coop with a regular door. And then I have a barn with a sliding door. Neither buildings are connected to each other.
EDIT: the coop door remains open until I close it at night. It's the only door.
