    Other than that mine thrived. It was a full time job when I tried to put it aside from the others because it was lonely and cried all the time. I did give it fruit to make sure it’s sugar was balanced because it would get lethargic now and then.

    What breed of ducks?

    What kind of ducks are these? I know they are different (I got them separate), and that one accidentally tore through the chicken wire and stuck itself but seems okay.

    Ok! I found it at a house I was showing half hatched and weak. The other eggs never hatched. They were all cold and abandoned. I stuck it under my Cochin who is still youngish and not that great of a mom but she does tend to it and tolerate it at least!

I thought production lines matured quickly and I wondered if free ranging and not having them on layer feed caused them to mature...

    Mostly they don’t get crazy over the treats unless I throw meat out. They don’t fight each other over it or anything.

    What I need to know is what could be the delay in laying? Is it free ranging? Slow maturity? Lighting? Does lighting matter with production breeds? Does it make them lay less because it is fall and will they lay at all? What if they dont lay at all? At what age should I hold out to? etc.
