Oh this pic is of the 8 silkies!
Here's one of the 5 icelandics! Oh and the Silkies are smaller then the Icelandics. When they came out of the eggs their feet were HUGE lol!
Wow! That first time hatching was the most nerve wracking thing ever! I got 8/10 silkies! And 6/6 Icelandics! One Icie died last night though :(
They have been adopted now by two broody silkies!
This is such a fun board!
My two Broodies were not very successful at hatching their eggs. Between the two of them thy hatched 3. So I gave them all the chicks from the incubator. They are coparenting lol 16 baby chicks. They got off the nest yesterday. Two eggs were still viable, one internally pipped, threw them...
Sorry I'm sleep deprived...what is their official hatch-date/time
One hatched at 10pm last night, 2 more after 2 am and all day like popcorn! I've got 8 out of 10 fuzzy butts hatched!
Do I take them out and leave the other two?
I never heard on peeping from inside till last night when the first one was coming out! But man when they get determined that egg really starts shaking!
The ones under my broody hen haven't hatched yet!
Oh yeah LOL April 12th! Ok so we are good?! This is really nerve wracking LOL. But exciting! I see three more with pips!
They are precious little silkies! Idk what colors they will be. My daughter picked the rooster! And our girls are three different colors.
These are all Silkies! I put 6 Icelandics in on the 15th so I had to buy another incubator to separate them. Dumb newbie thing lol. I set on May 12 about 3 pm? I think! First one hatched at 10 pm last night. The 2nd 2 after 2 am.
I'm So excited! But now I have to go to work
I have 10 eggs in the hovabator. One just hatched! This is my first time and I keep reading conflicting info on when to take that chick out and put in a brooder with water and food.
Some things say within 24 hrs, some say they left theirs in there for 48-72 hours. I'm really confused!
