I'm not sure what I'm looking at in the last. Pic. If I had to guess some random deformity. You may never know why. If it happens in other chicks you need to switch out some of your breeders. I'm curious what others have to say
Post an ad Free to good home. Lots of people would like him to breed due to color. Someone local will take him off your hands. If you wanted you could try to sell him and if you can't find a buyer then post for free.
If anyone is expecting chicks at Homosassa PO they have some the phone number on the box is to the PO itself. They called me knowing I Was expecting birds myself. I did offer to bring food and electrolytes if they couldn't contact the owner.
Foxes are the worst. They will return again and again until you take them out. Electric wire is helpful but the only cure I could find for a fox is to sit up and wait and shoot it. They're very difficult too trap. Raccoons will go in a trap. Foxes, not so much. Good luck.
I realize a lot of Serama hatch early but the breeder I got my starter birds from said his birds usually hatch at 20-21 days and mine do as well. I get one or two on occasion at 19 days. I wouldn't give up until they have had the full time.
That's what I was considering but it is pricey. that's why I was wondering if maybe somebody knew where I could get a reasonable price. I was thinking that and bubble wrap. So I guess that might be overboard. I never thought about using shavings. I worry abt shipping. I have not had any luck...
I don't feed in the incubator. I remove the chick to the brooder when it's dry and introduce it to food and water. My thinking is putting food in the incubator is risking the introduction of bacteria .
