My girl Gracie and I are dealing with this at the moment. I feel like I jinxed myself after learning about flystrike just a week ago. I took preventive measures and low and behold 4 days later my girl wouldn't leave the coop. I checked her over and found what looked like a new hatch in a wound...
Having a similar problem with one of my hens currently. How long did it take to fall off? This just transpired today. It appears that the top layer of her beak is simply coming off. She looks in pain and is not eating heartily. I know its an old post but maybe someone has advice,
I found my Myrtle like this today! Very little blood but she looks so uncomfortable and isn't able to eat. I tried made a gentle attempt at using Nu Skin to adhere it but couldn't get it to go down! Any advice? Clip the longest parts? I don't want it to snag and get worse.
