    Mine are 17 weeks and also spend 80% or more in the coop. They have lots of room in the run, 6 chickens in a 10'x16' run. If I go out there they will come out every time. My wife says I am there mother figure. Maybe I made there coop too nice.

    My soil here is very sandy lome and I have All Purpose sand on there poop board. Do I need to give them grit ?

    Does anyone have experience with Bryant Feed, the closest feed store to us carries it? This store is only 4 miles instead of 15 miles. Also our girls fly down off the roost instead of using the ramp. The roost is 36" high, is this high enough that they will hurt themselves? I have at least 2" of...

    That was for the Star Trek fans. We just got back with our first chickens. They seem to like there new home. We started with some thing a little older than chicks the first time around. (16 week old Sagitta's)

    Do you mean to eat or hatch ? Can't say that I have ever eaten duck eggs. After reading another of your posts, I guess that was a stupid question. My wife would like to get a duck for a pet. Do you think it could stay with the chickens so it would be safe ?
