I went to go collect eggs from the quail and I got a idea. I put all the eggs in a best looking thing and one of the females went up to them and and moved them a bit. I went inside and got 3 eggs from the fridge and I added them and the female moved them with her beak close to the nest looking...
Sometimes when they are free roaming my brother lets the dog outside(without knowing of the chickens free roaming) and the dog chases them but I run after her when he tells me he took the dog out(btw the chicken fly and jump everywere when this happenes)
I don't have any lol I have them on dirt but my quail are next door and thy have pineshavings that may be why the smell goes away I think the pine shavings take the odor away. Anyway I'm probably gonna add bricks on the bottom and some pine shavings for the chickens (pineshavings on bricks.) Ps...
Not sure if he tries to mate with them but anyway he does run after them tho lol and there all to young to mate anyway :P some hens are 2 months old another about 3-4
I'm wondering at what age do roosters protect hens because I wanna let my chickens roam in my backyard and I'm worried stray cats will try to kill my chickens and I need a protective rooster, Btw the rooster is about 4-5 months maybe younger
