Hi!
My EE and 2 SLW are now 10 weeks old and my 3 BO's are 6 weeks. Im wondering if you could take a peek and let me know if I have any roo's in my flock!
Thanks!
My EE.. I love this chicken! I would love if this is a hen! 10 weeks old.
SLW in the front.. Ive always assumed this...
Haha! While it will for sure add to his work load, I have a feeling he'll appreciate the smaller impact on the bank account if he builds things for me himself! The Chicken coop only cost about $300 out of pocket since we used mostly reclaimed redwood and free wood from friends. That hardware...
We finally finished our coop last weekend! Getting ready to move them all into it today. I am so proud of how hard my husband worked on this project.. and now that I know he can build things, his Honey-Do list just got longer!!
I let the teenagers roam free for the first time this weekend and they absolutely loved it.. It's going to be hard to keep them in the crate for another 6 weeks, but that's what I would like to do in order to give the babies a chance to get fully feathered.
While the teenagers were roaming, I...
I set up my first batch of chicks in the carport in a large dog crate that I predator proofed a few weeks ago (they are almost 7 weeks old now) and when I determined that I have at least one roo in the bunch I thought I should get a few more chicks to round out my flock after Ive culled any...
I got this hen at the feed store and I was told (s)he was an Ameraucana! But (s)he looks so different from the other one in my brooder. Tail is so long and legs look thick to me?
Those Wyandottes in the background are the same age and I am up in the air at what they are looking like so far...
Thank you for your response! I was afraid of that! I know I cant really tell until they crow or lay, but I think I will go ahead and get more from the feed store on Saturdaay.
My chickens are just a day shy of 4 weeks old.. and while I know it's really early to tell if I have a rooster, the two SLW are so drastically different in feather colors, yet both have very pink combs starting.
Maybe someone can take a look at my admittedly bad pictures and let me know what...
The feed store will be out of all chicks by about 11pm tomorrow morning.. they go extremely fast! I am hoping to grab up one blue laced red wyandotte and pop her in with the others in the brooder (and cross my fingers that she is a she!). They will be about 2 weeks difference in age.
Hi there!
I am new to this forum and the world of chickens, but am loving this new adventure!
I picked up my 4 chicks on the 26th of April, so they are just over 2 weeks old. I have a feeling one of my wyandottes is a Roo... He has a really long neck, his body is often angled at 45 degrees...
