    Thank you. The black chicken is supposed to be a Jersey Giant. For that matter, I bought 4 of them and it turned out that only 2 were Jersey Giants. The other 2 are gold laced wyandottes!     They are amercaunas. Not true easter eggers, but they lay blue eggs. Unfortunately I bought 7 straight run and only one of them turned out to be a lady!

    I am not sure when "feathering out" happens, and I have been surprised by the changes in some of my Americaunas in this past month (their 3rd). But owly koobehdo still looks has the owl look. I will try to post a picture tomorrow. So when does feathering out end? Thanks much for sharing info...

I started them in a run, with the intention of letting them free range once they had gotten used to us and our dogs got used to them. I think they were in the run for about 3 weeks...
