Joining pullets and chicks...(not sure what to title it)

I believe what aart posted is the informAtion I used for integration and all went very well. I'm not a seasoned chicken keeper, Ive been at it for a little over a year and you will have many experiences in that time. I do agree you should consider your space an ultimately how many chickens your...

Joining pullets and chicks...(not sure what to title it)

It is so much fun to watch chicks grow up. I have had adult hens with chicks. Keep the chicks separated from older hens until they are close to same size. I separated the run with chicken wire, nothing fancy. The chicks had their on place to sleep at night as well.

My silken goes bloody a lot also. I just move mine off the nest and after a few times she snaps out of it. Lol

I have one black copper maran too. She has black feathers too and have an iridescent green shimmer to them. I do see some copper feathers around her neck but are so slight they are hidden under black ones. I just adore her.

Hi, I'm currently treating my chicken with valbazen. I believe it's tapeworms. They are small white, looks like rice. Should I be treating with the valbazen for 5 days straight? Thank you for the help. I gave one dose Bout three days ago. They are coming out in poop but look like they are still...

My MOran roo is about 22 weeks old, looking more like a roo everyday. He's not crowing at all Nd still runs away from the bigger hens. He mainly stays with the maran pulley. I got them together Nd they seem inseparable. When do you think those hormones will kick in?

They both have feathery legs on the outside. I'm aS so hoping he was a she. Lol. I'm going to try to keep him as long as he doesnt get to hard to handle. I'm willing to try the Velcro band to stifle the crow. Maybe they are attainable. Ha ha. Any thoughts?

Are you saying that's a Black Australop? I'm asking because I got chicks from a farm store up here in Mesa and they were calling them black copper Marans. One of them looks all black but has some copper hints in the feathers and the other has the copper neck. I got them when they were 8 weeks...

I understand. I'm limited to about 7 and he's one of them. He's still shy and seems well mannered. I pick him up and hold him everyday 2x a day if I can. His feathers are beautiful. If anyone's interested, let me know. I'll even deliver him. :)
