Old thread, but I should think a better option if telling chickens apart is the issue, wouldn't leg bands be a better option? If you've got bands of the same colour, you could mark the bands themselves, rather than resort to marking the chickens.
Another issue I'm concerned with is when pin feathers come through. If you live in an urban area and rely on something like a collar to quieten down your roosters and have to take them off for whatever reason, if they crow just once with it off I can see it not ending well.
Thought they'd feel a bit more rough than smooth (save for the scaly legs) - I notice that that chicken and another breed are listed as turkens. I also saw around the web a genetically engineered chicken that had no feathers (to save plucking it when it's time for it to be slaughtered) - is this...
1. Everyone's going to go for 6. (Though I do think it's a gorgeous chook) 2. Sounds weird (and probably creepy) but I'd also wonder what a featherless chook would feel like to touch.
