    I am brand new to chickens. This is my first flock ( if you call 7 a flock ). I am in love with my light brahma, hatchery chick, it is only 5 weeks old but is getting beautiful already. Can you guys share what you are think about sex...pullet or cockerel?

    Here is the latest picture of my questionable breed chick. Now I am more concerned with gender than breed. In one week she has started to develop wattles and earlobes that are pinkish! Are you guys still thinking pullet or is it starting to say roo?

    I double checked this morning. This one has a single comb. The eggs came from mcmurray hatchery and they dont breed barnevelders. SS, GLW, and DC they do.

    The kindergarteners at my school hatched them from a hatchery premium large fowl egg assortment. You are right the buff one has yellow legs. The Brahma and the buff were the two I was questioning the possibilities of rooster the most! Thank you so much for your help!

    I am getting worried. This is my favorite of my chicks but its comb is developing much faster. It appears to have 3 rows to it's comb....does that mean this Is a roo? Cant have a rooster so hoping to determine as early as possible before my kiddos ( and ill admit it...me) get too attached!
