I'm thinking of downsizing my peafowl. I think I want to keep my India Blue pair, and sell my white pair. I don't even know where to begin. Like how much would I even ask for my white pair? The are mated, and successful. My male is 4 this year, and his mate is 3.
I don't want to give them...
I purchased one a couple months ago to try my hand at incubating, and I like it very much. I had originally purchased the HumidiKit for it as well, but it was defective...had another one sent, and it too was defective, so I returned both humidiKits, and now just use the IncuView by itself...
I have 4 peachicks for sale. They were born on 6-29 and I know for sure that I have 2 males. The parents are not related. They were incubated by chicken hens and hatched out by me, but have been free range by their chicken mama's since day 1. They have been kept seperate from all other...
Qu. 1 - Here is a link to the build for my pair...cost was probably around $300 and I'm thinking that may be a little high for what I actually spent.

I had that same question last year when my pair hatched out their first time. I was concerned he would peck the babies or kill them, but that was not the case.
My peacock turned out to be a great daddy! He let my female sit without bothering her, watched over her at night, and when those...
Here's a link to the coop/enclosure build that I did for my pair

It is now twice as long and twice wide as it is there in the photo. I added on as time went on. Hope that gives you...
I had bought a peahen that wasn't shall we say kept in the best of circumstances. She was grunting constantly, pacing in a 6 ft. area for months...just constantly running away from me and letting me know that she didn't want anything to do with me and she absolutely didn't want me in the pen...
I hear peeping Just got home this afternoon and I am super stoked!! Plus my silly peahen laid 3 more eggs, so maybe she'll end up setting before the year is through
Not sure what is going on with my peahen. She laid 17 eggs this season so far...but never went broody! Last year, she laid 5 and that's it...went broody and was the best mom ever. This year....nothing....just eggs and 3 different nests. Nothing is different and nothing has been changed...
I have never moved a peahen, but I have moved chickens. But couldn't you just move her to the pen that you used last year after her chicks hatched? She knows that pen, so maybe she'd be more accepting of it. Move her at night just like a chicken....Good luck! I wish I could give more solid...
Plus, also with the amount of Zanfel in the tube, you can use it time and time again. I think it worked out to something like 15-20 doses ...so even though it costs a heck of a lot, it's worth it! I use to have to go to the doctor immediately and within 24 hours my body would be broke out in...
My pair are penned as well, but Pete does a fantastic job of letting me know if anyone pulls in my driveway, the neighbors driveway, or the other neighbors driveway!! He's so funny!!
yeah, it sounds like a vitamin deficiency to me as well. When my birds have the inability to hold their head up (vitamin deficiency) I give them Polyvitamin drops WITHOUT IRON....alot, diluted with water and see the improvement in about 24 hours.
Well, I've heard that they are good moms as well. I have 2 seasoned broody chicken hens sitting on 7 peafowl eggs each! Let's keep our fingers crossed for eachother
Yeah, good question zazouse...chicken eggs are 21 days to hatch and peafowl are 28.
What if the chicken eggs hatch at day 21 and she abandons the peafowl eggs??? Which in my experience, (only last year) my peahen pushed an egg over 15 feet away out of a nest after 24 hours of her others...
