for measuring spheres, calipers are most accurate. I was just seeing how close a gereral measure for an egg could get. besides my measuring cups are marked at 10ml. hard to see the miniscus through that plastic. plus you can't tilt the cup to rad accurately. totally flat. have to get on your...
yes it is complex to calculate with two ends having different radius. I've meaured about 40 eggs and compared the rule of thumb measurement with actual weight, and different shaped eggs still hold close to the same rule. It was just an exercise for myself sitting in my recliner listening to...
is not 1 cc of water also 1 gram? (I realize and egg is about 3% heavier than water). But you try the complex formula to find volune of an egg, then share with us!
ok. I cut to the quick and left off cubic inch to cc conversion showing my work, combined the 4/3 pi as well. Now I just need to know the radius, cube it, then multiply it by 96 (round to 100) and I get the weight of my egg estimate.
I looked for the formula to calculate the volume (weight) of an egg. It's a little too complex because you have two end sizes. the volune of a sphere is 4/3 x pi x radius cubed.
it's in their food. I hatched 12 of these and all treated the same. 4 put in a smaller cage started laying about 7 weeks. I hear one rooster in there. The largest 8 I put in a larger cage and nothing. I realized they are actually 8 weeks old tomorrow. But I didn't find any foam on any yet. The...
