    If you want to stop algae you need to stop light transmission. I use a cup drinker system that I made and I use a black bucket. Also don't use any clear tubing or pipe.

    Oh cool. Thanks. I'm thinking they may be a bit older than I think. I bought them at the local livestock auction and have no idea how old they were when I got them. I've been sweating it. I want ten hens but was worried I'd have to get rid of a few. Especially the white headed one.

    What watering and feeding system do you use?

    I use pvc for the feeders. These three are on a door so I can open it and fill them from the outside. The waterer is a 5 gallon bucket with nipple drinkers on the bottom.
