    Hi Ms Magoo, I have been raising Phoenix chickens for about 3 years now. Eventhough our winters never go below 0, it seems the Phoenix breed is very hardy. They also do really well in the 102 summers. Keep the heat lamp on on those cold spells and they should be fine. Very smart birds.

    LOL I thought the little feathers on the side of his head were tufts??? Doesnt an EE lay multi colored eggs? The hens that my friend has only lay blue to greenish eggs. We just figured that to be Americaunas. She got them from Atwoods. Thanks for the info

    And marans usually have dark gray legs. Your black and white chick looks like it has yellow on it??? maybe you order was mixed up with someone else's? A reputable hatchery couldnt mess up that badly!
