    Automatic doors for Dummies

Just got the pen finished enough to use it. We haven't totally finished, but it is safe for day use. So far, I am just closing the door by hand. We are learning as we go, so I think we will continue this way for a bit. I need some feedback on what to use on the grond of the run. I have...

It is beautiful! Ours isn't quite finished yet. Did you put an apron on the pen to predator proof it? We are unsure what to do. The ground is too rocky to bury hardware cloth, So "DH" is planning an apron, but we haven't decided what to cover it with. Great job. I love it.

It is adorable. Great idea for hanging the feed and water. I'd say $200 is a bargain. Mine was a lot more, and yours is just as nice. I think my setup is my birthday, anniversary and Christmas gift for the next few years. ;)

Hi. Newbie here. We have 8 girls, almost 6 weeks old. We are ready to move them from their brooder to the hen house. We have read conflicting information; everything from keeping them in there non-stop for 3 days (Urban Chicken) to 2 weeks (Chicken Chick). My question is this: They enjoy...

    Automatic doors for Dummies

I am a newbie. Please give me feedback on automatic doors. Our hen house is in the shade, and doesn't have power, so I would love a battery operated option. I need one that attaches to the outside of the house or one that opens sideways, as inside lacks the 33 inch vertical clearance due to...
