Mine hate lettuce too, but they love kale. Its really good for them and easy to grow. In the South it will grow all winter long.

Mine love my cherry tomatoes. Thankfully the garden is far enough away from the pen they haven't found it yet. I only let them out when the weather is perfect and only a couple hours before sunset so they don't stray far. That has kept them out so far. I do share lots of stuff from the garden...

Its cool. It is what it is. I gave up most of that stuff when I moved out to the country.

I have a life, but it revolves around the garden and the growing farm. Its not much of a life, but its rewarding. I am rapidly approaching being completely self sufficient here. Its not that much work. Takes about 15-20 minutes to make. The blender and sun do most all of the work and I use the...

Try grapes, chopped up cherry tomatoes, yellow wood sorrel you can find in your yard for free, grass seed heads from your yard, a little bit of grass clippings, etc.etc. Those are all things mine love.

I have found a recipe that really works and makes use of the stuff I grow for free from the garden. We have all kinds of fruit trees too. I just take 1 large cucumber, 2 large summer squash, and 1 apple as a base, along with whatever other optional fruit and veggie scraps you may have (like I...

Yes, BUT technically you're only supposed to do it in the winter in rabbit season. That drastically reduces the number of infected individuals with Tularemia. Its a rather nasty disease. Generally you can check the liver for cirrhotic spots (if it looks spotted and diseased) to see if the meat...

You could run a drip line across the peak of the roof. A small amount of dripping water will evaporate and help keep the temp down.

I use wheat straw and that works really well. Keeps things pretty dry, its cheap and they like to pick the scraps of seed heads when its fresh straw. And we keep all the used straw in a compost pile we will till into the garden this fall.

Find the nearest mudhole where the flies are getting their moisture and sprinkle a gallon worth of activated lime powder on it (or less if its really small). If you have any septic leaks or ponds, etc., then dust them too. That works really well for driving off flies.
