    Too clean equals bad? fact or fiction?

    Definitely clean, do mine weekly with fresh shavings and nest boxes are checked everyday and cleaned immediately if needed. That said I don't use chemicals, wash feeders and waterers with hot water and dish cleaner and jet wash the coop twice a year when good drying conditions.

    Bantam Cockerell acquired today..

    I acquired this chap today, felt sorry for him as it looked like he was given as a pet to someone who didn't know much about chickens. He is crowing a lot probably because I have him quarantined alone. Very frightened and easily spooked. Any guidance on breed appreciated. The owner didn't know!
