    Thanks! I've done that in the past to my flock when it's this hot but I think I will have to do it again. I fed all the broody hens frozen grapes but they are still panting.

    Yup. 4-6 months. Mine were born in late August and started laying in January. Despite the cold weather they laid eggs daily. Now our newer hens are 4 months old but I do think the extreme heat we are having will prevent them from laying since even my older hens aren't laying right now.

    New from Missouri

    Hello! We recently relocated our family to a town of about 200 from the St. Louis area. We have 18 baby chicks - 5 Bantam, 7 Barred Plymouth Rock and 6 Light Brahma. I had chickens in the city but this is a new experience in the country. They arrived yesterday and were all healthy!
