Thank you all for the help. We found out it was a bobcat. I saw it a few more times, and shot at it, may have nicked it, but it never did return.
It killed so many hens, and several roosters.
I never did understand why it came around every 2-3 hours, just to kill 8 or so hens then leave, only to...
Ok, thanks. My current coop in a different county is a little confusing. I know they don’t count it, however it’s right next to another shelter, so from the sky it looks like one long pole barn. They only tax us on the shelter right next to the coop, per the square footage.
True, however I am trying to figure out if anywhere in that law does it state a size.
I truly am only using it for a coop, I just tend to not cull the older girls. So as you can imagine, I have quite a few ladies that don’t lay, just live out the remainder of their lives with me.
Yes, I know...
It’s hasn’t been built yet, so there is absolutely nothing there. I am just in the planning stages and originally wanted to figure out if there is a size listed somewhere that I can’t go over. I was planning on a 24x36 pole barn, however in the state law, I can’t find a thing about sizes...
Thanks.
That’s the thing, I would like to avoid a huge fight on the chicken coop because we will already be going head to head on the house. The house is currently not being lived in, (no homestead) and they didn’t put the circuit breaker limitation on it last year. Since it’s not in our name...
Correct, I don’t want them to tax me on this new pole barn that will only be used as a chicken coops.
No, it’s a rural area, so no restrictions on animals.
Only thing is, it’s near the coast, so we are having the builders certify it for 150 mph winds.
Good evening everyone!
I already have chickens, and a large coop here in Texas, however we may be moving in a couple of years to a larger home with more acres.
I have a few questions before I even begin to hire a pole barn company-any to build this coop.
Question regarding Texas ad valorem...
Good morning,
I am looking for some experienced people who have done Nercropsy before and can tell me if this hen is showing any obvious signs of why she died.
From the amount of liquid build up in her abdomen I am assuming ascites, is what killed her.
I noticed she had a very dirty bottom on...
Hi that for the reply: I should have included that info sorry.
It did not make any noise that I heard, it was on the smaller size closer to the size of our 7 month Aussie puppy(she is about 40 lbs), so no to the lab size.
As far as markings go i couldn’t really tell markings, but the color was...
I have a few questions:
First a little background info. I am in Texas(Gulf Coast), I have a large flock of chickens that free range daily.
On Monday morning I went out about 10 min after the auto door opened to find 3 chickens dead. Bodies left right where they were attacked.
I cleaned up the...
So after the horrible hail storm we had in Fort Bend County Texas, I have tallied up the approx number of dead birds(not chickens) we found. Close to 100! Those poor things were plummeted with golf ball size hail!
Probably should have bagged them all up instead of tossing them in the pile with...
Not sure if anyone is thinking about ordering chicks in the near future or not!
I would advise against it!
After waiting on my worming medication since January 9th, I went to find out what in the world was taking so long, and what I learned was shocking.
If you are not aware of the major USPS...
