Has anyone used hogpanel or other hard fencing panels to make a run?

Yes, take a look at my coop page for photos. I added some framing and chicken wire above them to make the run taller, and put bird netting over the top. As the run is large, I put a pvc pipe structure in the middle to hold up the bird netting. It is not working out that great, I should have...

    Bay Area BYCers!

Here is a recent post on craigslist Santa Rosa area for a shed that would need only a little modification (pop door, roost, a couple windows). I look at shed ads all the time, this is a good price. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/grd/3065112565.html And, you would have room for a few more!

    old barn nightmare's

You are welcome. There are some others as well if you search "Barn coops" or something. Remember you are so lucky to have a 100 yr old barn - you should put a horse in it as well, or maybe some of those cute Highland cows.

Good luck with your ducks - they are fun, but very messy. And if it is a duckling, you will notice that they grow really fast. Take photos quickly if you want some when it is small.

    Plymouth Rock thread!

Just thought I would alert anyone in California that I have some blue and blue barred rock chicks for sale on here. Also, one of the blue barred chicks has a bigger head spot than the rest - I know they are not sex linked as the Dad is barred (single gene), but does the bigger head spot mean...
